“Oak Bluffs,” 1985

The Berwick Public Library asked Lorena Mary Hart to design murals for our Children’s Room, and she designed several delightful scenes, entitled “Oceans of Fun”. These are wonderful displays handcrafted from composite wood of colorful sea creatures including turtles, starfish, stingray, octopus, seahorse, and a school of fish. Each is meticulously painted in an array of warm sea colors. The children love the sea creatures, and they bring the reading corner and entire room alive and kindle their imaginations during family visits and story hours! We are thrilled to have Lorena’s creations as part of our collections and hope we will be able to ask her to design another mural set based on an alternate theme such as dinosaurs, trees and plants, or a night sky scene. She was sensitive to our library budget constraints and has supported the art program at the BPL by exhibiting other of her works for special events such as our Earth Day Festival and Plant Sale. All patrons have enjoyed her exhibits, and we look forward to more in the future!

Lorena Hart decorated a handcrafted hanging cabinet for us. The images were well executed and reflected exactly what we wanted. We are very pleased with her work. It is whimsical and colorful...

I gave Lorena a general description of my wallspace and color and subject preference. The artwork she created was beyond my expectations--it so suited me and my workspace! The children I work with are intrigued by my "baby turtles," yet it is so soothing, it has never been a distraction. It is the first thing families and colleagues see as they walk into my office and it has received many, many compliments. Kudos to Lorena!!!!

I have had the pleasure of working with Lorena Hart on several creative projects for the Children's Museum of NH. Lorena was an instrumental part of our exhibit team and the creative inspiration for our Kids World Café exhibit murals. Lorena's work is innovative, unique and aesthetically pleasing. Her Greek and Mexican murals have added an authentic feel to a very popular exhibit space. I would recommend Lorena Hart as an artist with incredible talent, but just as important, as an artist who listens to the needs of the client and exceeds their expectations!
